VILLAGE LANDSCAPES
Advanced and strong intermediate 6 hrs
Creating a Village Landscape Design, size of your choice, will be the object of this class. Using Dixie’s methods and theory of design will enable each student to free themselves of self-imposed rules and use the talents within themselves to create their own original masterpieces. Individual perspectives will be encouraged, however patterns may be purchased for optional use or as a starting point. This is a playful class using whimsy and a Folk Art attitude. QNM #261, Cover.
STUDENT SUPPLY LIST: Pins, paper, paper scissors, see-thru ruler, pencils, eraser, tablet of 8”x11” grid paper, note paper for sketching, scotch or masking tape, compass, large roll of freezer paper, medium tip black felt Sharpie pen, liquid white our for ink. Look in magazines and books or take pictures of landscapes, houses, barns, churches, schools, trees, bushes, birds, flowers and skies. A one-day class requires no fabric. SPONSOR SUPPLY LIST: Chalk Board, Two full view quilt stands, two tables for myself, on or two light boxes, one iron and ironing board, Kodak carousel projector, screen and a room that can be darkened. SPACE is needed for each student in this class, table, and wall or foam core boards for pinning of paper. Or any combination of the above mentioned solutions.
